How to Create a Professional Video Using Only AI: A Step-by-Step Guide

HarmCheck video ad:

At Alphy, we're all about using AI to advance communication. This includes developing cutting-edge tools to reduce harm and advance more collaborative communication in the corporate world. We are also always looking at how AI can automate and augment human creativity. So we recently turned our sights on AI-generated videos.

Creating high-quality videos used to require expensive cameras, actors, editors, and hours of production time. Today, AI video generation tools make it possible to create cinematic, engaging videos without a production crew, without the prohibitive costs — and often without leaving your desk. The technology is improving quickly. In this guide, I’ll walk you through how I produced a full marketing video using only AI tools, from concept to final cut.

Step 1. Start with a strong concept and script

Every great video starts with a clear story. For my project, I wanted to show Greg, a compliance manager, before and after discovering HarmCheck, an AI-powered compliance tool. I know that compliance is super-serious, so I thought it would be interesting to do something playful with Greg.

I drafted a rough script and then used ChatGPT to refine it. By feeding in my original draft, ChatGPT helped me:

  1. Tighten the language for clarity and impact

  2. Enhance the contrast between “Before Greg” and “After Greg”

  3. Make the dialogue sound natural and engaging in the short timeline

  4. Set the right tone: cheeky but rooted in reality

Step 2. Generate visuals with AI image creation tools

With the script finalized, it was time to bring Greg to life visually. Using ChatGPT’s image generation, I created:

  • Before Greg: An average guy, sitting in a cubicle wearing a sad blue shirt and striped tie, staring blankly at an outdated laptop, with a plastic container of tuna nearby.

  • After Greg: A sharply dressed, confident version smoldering at the camera, projecting authority and success.

This took several iterations to get right — especially ensuring Greg’s "confident" face stayed consistent with his "average" face. To achieve this, once I landed on an "average" face, I uploaded it as a starting point for the "confident" Greg.

Step 3. Animate with Google Veo + Google Flow

Instead of relying on traditional text-to-video AI tools, I used Google Veo through Google Flow and opted for frame-to-video generation. This feature allows you to start from a static AI-generated image and create smooth, cinematic motion.

Here’s how I structured it:

  • Input the final AI-generated images as starting frames

  • Broke the video into 8-second clips (Google Flow’s limit)

  • Suggested camera movements — pans, zooms, and scene changes

  • Ensured seamless transitions by starting each new scene with the last frame of the previous scene, or decided to use a zoomed-in shot from another angle to look like a jump cut to another camera.

The result? A video that feels professionally shot — even though it was entirely AI-generated.

Step 4. Generate audio and mood direction

For music and tone, I provided Google Flow with:

  • The script for timing and pacing (which it narrated for me with the creation of the video)

  • Background music direction for each before and after segment

This ensured the audio synced naturally with the visuals, giving the video a cinematic quality without needing a sound engineer.

Step 5. Edit and finalize in Adobe Premiere

While Google Flow offers basic video stitching, I brought everything into Adobe Premiere for final refinement. Here’s what I adjusted:

  • Timing and pacing between scenes

  • Smooth transitions between “Before Greg” and “After Greg”

  • Adding a polished intro/outro bumper with logos and CTAs

Premiere allowed me to fine-tune the final product beyond what AI could automate — giving the video a professional feel.

The Results: A full AI-generated marketing video

From start to finish, this video was created without traditional cameras, actors, or production crews. By using AI writing to hone the script, AI image generation, AI video animation, and AI-assisted editing, I built a compelling marketing asset in a fraction of the time — and cost — of traditional video production.
